John Pennekamp State Park is not to be missed on a visit to the Florida Keys. The only coral reef in the contiguous United States can be viewed in many ways no matter what the weather! Entrance to the 70 nautical mile park can be accessed at mile marker 102.5, off of the Overseas Highway
For those who prefer to stay dry, there is still a lot to see and do! The Education Center features 30,000-gallon tank aquarium and monthly education talks.. If small trails, picnics, BBQ or a pavilion is more your style they also can be found around the park. Additionally, swimming is encouraged in three designated areas in including Cannon Beach which features remnants of an early Spanish Shipwreck 100 feet offshore. Many other activities like, snorkeling and scuba tours, glass bottom boat tours, kayaking, power boat rentals and diving gear rentals are available.
